　　concentrate作动词,意为“集中,聚集”,常用于短语concentrate on sth./ doing sth., 意为“全神贯注于……,专心于……”。如:

　　He decided to concentrate on physics because he just failed the exam.

　　他决定专攻物理因为他刚刚考试不及格。

　　She concentrated on studying for the exam.

　　她为了考试而专心学习。

　　succeed

　　1. succeed意为“成功”,是不及物动词,其后常跟in sth. / doing sth.。如:

　　Our plan succeeded! 我们的计划成功了!

　　I hope you will succeed in your studies.

　　我希望你们的学习会取得成功。

　　They succeeded in solving the problem.

　　他们成功地解决了那个难题。

　　2. succeed的名词形式为success,作“成功,成就”讲时,是不可数名词;作“成功的人(或事物)”讲时,是可数名词。如:

　　He has had great success.

　　他取得了巨大的成就。

　　She wasn’t a success as a teacher.

　　她教书没教出什么名堂。

　　3. succeed的形容词形式为successful,意为“成功的,有成效的”。如:

　　We had a successful meeting yesterday.

　　昨天我们成功地召开了会议。
