并列连词主要用来表示并列关系、转折关系、选择关系、因果推理 关系等。表转折关系的并列连词 主要有but(但是)，yet(可是)，while(而，却)等。Mary likes classical music, but her husband likes rock music.玛丽喜欢古典音乐，而她的丈夫却喜欢摇滚乐。I’ ve been away only for three years, yet I can hardly recognize my hometown.我仅在外三年，可我几乎认不出我的故乡了。The son was having a good meal at home, while the parents were working in the fields.儿子在家吃好饭，而父母却在田里辛勤劳作。表示选择关系的并列连词 主要有or(或者)，either... or...(要么……要么……)，neither... nor...(既不……也不……)，otherwise(要不然)等。Work harder, or you’ll fall behind.努力点，否则你会落后的。Either we will find a supply, or we will make the goods.我们或是寻求供货，或者自己制造。表因果的并列连词 主要有for(因为)，so(因此)等。She found it increasingly difficult to read, for her eyesight was beginning to fail.她发觉阅读越来越困难了，因为她的视力开始下降了。
